To answer your questions:
Rhys, you may use a quotation in the conclusion but it is not vital.
Lauren, the essay should be around 9 paragraphs including the conclusion (though it can be more if you have more points to make!)
Megan, if you let me see your essay today I'll try to help. The only advice I can give at the moment is to follow the planner thoroughly, trying to pinpoint as you go any parts that are causing you difficulty.
