Hi Megan, I'd say if you're going to do music, you should focus on one aspect of it. You could talk about the type of music you play, and performing, or specific types of music and its history, or specific bands/groups you particularly like. It's a good topic...you just need to narrow it down a bit!

The powerpoint isn't really important; it's what you say. You could have 6 slides and talk for a long time about what's on each one, or lots and talk very little about each! Time yourself doing the talk itself, and if it's much longer than, say, 6 minutes, then think about cutting information out. I'd say between 4 and 6 minutes is about right, though if you're showing video clips or playing music, then this doesn't count towards the length of the talk itself. I hope that helps, girls!
