The Higher, Int 2 and Int 1 English prelims will be held on 2nd February. Please contact your teachers to find out where and at what time your exam is being held. Some quick general tips: - For the critical essay, ensure that, if you have to write two essays (Higher and Int 2), you choose from different sections (e.g. one from DRAMA and one from POETRY) - Check the clock - you have around 45 minutes per essay! - For close reading, revise question types. Think about the stages you have to go through to answer each question type properly. - In close reading, check how many marks each question is worth. This gives an indication of how much information you need for each answer. - If the question asks you to 'refer closely' to the passage, then you MUST quote to support your ideas. Good luck! Any other tips for revising or answering questions...post 'em here!

I am going to be sitting some plastering computer exams at a college very soon these computer tests can be very technical and confusing at times in order for me to sit these computer exams properly I will be going though the answers beforehand on for example the makes of certain plaster which comes in bags as such different bonds to apply to different walls and textures for different surfaces such as rough coats smooth coats and finish coats. I would like to study these answers beforehand so I can really speed though the computer tests and then move onto the practical side of the exam which I only have a certain amount of time for to complete the whole course if I do not complete the whole course on time I will then be put back a whole year until I can complete the course again this really is a must as I am sick of the trade I am already involved gives me more self worth and reliability in life and also A aim towards the end of the job instead of wondering around doing the same the same things again and again which makes the job rather longstaying I like hard work and lifting heavy things this is what I would like to wake up for in the morning Thank You from Paul the Gardener...
