Hi Sarah,
The main thing I want you to focus on while you are off is preparation for the production unit NAB. We will sit this on the first Wednesday back after the holidays.
Remember you are being assessed on your ability to evaluate the process and justify decisions in relation to the brief - not the quality of the finished product.
Here are some practice questions for you:
1. Explain what you were asked to do in the brief.
2. Describe some of the research you did and explain how important it was to the finished film.
3. How was the idea of a deadline explained to you? How important was the idea of a deadline in getting the video made?
4. Describe your biggest task and explain how well you got on with the task.
5. Does your film do what you talked about when you first got the brief?
6. What three things could have improved your film? Explain why they would make the film better?
1. What did you decide to do when you got the brief to make the film?
2. What resources did you use to make the film?
3. Who is the target audience for the film?
4. What did you put into the film that appeals to your target audience?
5. Describe any changes that you made to your plans as you were making the film and explain the reasons for the changes.
6. Which external controls – things like health and safety and the certificate – did you need to think about as you were making the film?
7. Some people say that organisation is the key to making successful media products. If you agree with them explain why, based on what you have learned. If you think there is something else – maybe teamwork, meeting deadlines, hi-tech equipment – explain why you think that is more important.
8. Was there anything that was a big worry to you about making the film and it turned out the worry was all a big mistake?
Remember, there really isn't much time left before the exam, so you should also be revising The Godfather and Bowling for columbine and completing past papers at home. Here is the weblink:
