SOURCES: [1] It would eliminate the requirement for organ donors: “Replacement cloning would entail the replacement of an extensively damaged, failed, or failing body part through cloning followed by whole or partial brain transplant.” - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/human_cloning/[2] It could reverse heart attacks: “Scientists believe that they may be able to treat heart attack victims by cloning their healthy heart cells and injecting them into the areas of the heart that have been damaged. Heart disease is the number one killer in the United States and many other industrialised countries.” -http:// www.humancloning.org/benafits.php[3] It could cure many horrible diseases which cannot be cured currently: “There has been a breakthrough with human stem cells. Embryonic stem cells can be grown to produce organs or tissues to repair or replace damaged ones. Skin for burn victims, brain cells for the brain damaged, spinal cord cells for quadriplegics and paraplegics, hearts, lungs, livers, and kidneys could be produced. By combining this technology with human cloning technology it may be possible to produce needed tissue for suffering people that will be free of rejection by their immune systems. Conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, diabetes, heart failure, degenerative joint disease, and other problems may be made curable if human cloning and its technology are not banned.” - www.humancloning.org/benafits.php[4] Infertile couples can still have their own children: “With cloning, infertile couples could have children. Despite getting a fair amount of publicity in the news current treatments for infertility, in terms of percentages, are not very successful. One estimate is that current infertility treatments are less than 10 percent successful. Couples go through physically and emotionally painful procedures for a small chance of having children. Many couples run out of time and money without successfully having children. Human cloning could make it possible for many more infertile couples to have children than ever before possible” - www.humancloning.org/benafits.php[5] Defective genes will no longer be a problem: “The average person carries 8 defective genes inside them. These defective genes allow people to become sick when they would otherwise remain healthy. With human cloning and its technology it may be possible to ensure that we no longer suffer because of our defective genes.” - www.humancloning.org/benafits.php[6] The risk of Down’s Syndrome can be removed: “Those women at high risk for Down’s Syndrome can avoid that risk by cloning” - www.humancloning.org/benafits.php[7] People are concerned about what the technology will lead to: “Serious ethical concerns have been raised by the future possibility of harvesting organs from clones.” - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/human_cloning/[8] Certain religious groups are against it: “The Catholic Church and many religious organisations oppose all forms of cloning, on the grounds that life begins at conception.” - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/human_cloning/

Human Cloning Persuasive Essay Human cloning is a widely debated topic, many people dislike it and also many people feel that it could make the world a better place. In my opinion, I do not feel that it could make the world better, I believe that it will make the world better. Human cloning is a massive step forward in technology and it should be allowed to reach its full potential as it can greatly help with medical research – including curing those who have horrible diseases, think of all the lives that could be saved, think of the happiness it could spread among the families of the sufferers of these diseases... is that not what you want? Cures are one thing that the cloning can achieve but those who are infertile could have their own children that they gave birth to themselves! All of this can be achieved if the naive people who oppose it just let this wondrous advancement do its work. Many medical advancement can be provided by human cloning. Believe it or not, human cloning could result in the elimination of the requirement of organ donors, “Replacement cloning would entail the replacement of an extensively damaged, failed, or failing body parts through cloning followed by whole or partial brain transplant”, as explained on Wikipedia, think about it, people will never be asking “will they ever find someone to donate an organ?’ or ‘What if it is rejected?’ as it is grown from the patient’s own tissue, it will never be rejected and it will also mean that there will be no requirement for organ donors, therefore your body and everything in it will remain yours forever more. And just to add to the importance of the topic: Organ Failure Kills! However how can it kill if it does not exist? How can it not exist if the technology is forbidden? Heart attacks! Deadly and Painful! However why should we suffer from them if we do not need to? “Scientists believe that they may be able to treat heart attack victims by cloning their healthy heart cells and injecting them into areas of the heart that have been damaged. Heart disease is the number one killer in the United States and many other industrialised countries” as explained on the human cloning foundation’s website Human cloning could also cure many horrible diseases in which cannot be cured currently, as explained on the human cloning foundation’s website “There has been a breakthrough with human stem cells. Embryonic stem cells can be grown to produce organs or tissues to repair or replace damaged ones. Skin for burn victims, brain cells for the brain damaged, spinal cord cells for quadriplegics and paraplegics, hearts, lungs, livers and kidneys can be produced. By combining this technology with human cloning technology it may be possibly to produce needed tissue for suffering people that will be free of rejection by their immune systems. Conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, heart failure, degenerative joint disease, and other problems that may be made curable if human cloning and its technology were not banned”. Just think of how much happiness you could spread among the millions of people who come under the above categories. Just think of how all of their families would feel. Just think of all of the possibilities! GENETICS + CLONING = CURE!
Reproductive Problems Be Gone! Infertile couples could still have their own children without IVF or adoption. How? Well allow me to tell you... “With cloning, infertile couples could have children. Human cloning could make it possible for many more infertile couples to have children than ever before possible” as said on the human cloning foundation’s website. Defective genes affect everyone, even you... according to the human cloning foundation “The average person carries 8 defective genes inside them. These defective genes allow people to become sick when they would otherwise remain healthy. With human cloning and its technology it may be possible to ensure that we no longer suffer because of our defective genes.” I do not know about you however to me that sounds extremely good. Did you know that the risk of Down’s Syndrome can be removed? Well, it cannot yet, however if human cloning and its technology were not banned then it could be, this is stated on the human cloning foundation’s website, “Those women at high risk for Down’s Syndrome can avoid that risk by cloning.” So, do you think human cloning is something that should be permitted yet? Well, do not make up your mind just yet as you have not yet seen the ‘down sides’ which, may I just say in advance, are not valid reasons for hate...
Like everything, no matter how good, there are always those who disagree with it. According to Wikipedia people are concerned about what the technology will lead to, “Serious ethical concerns have been raised by the future possibility of harvesting organs from clones.” I do get the feeling that Hollywood is to blame for this with its vast collection of Sci-Fi films - seriously... people worry about what they see in films... well run for the hills because the zombies are coming! But watch that you do not get abducted by the UFO. As well as the concern of a film coming true, religion gets in the way too, “The Catholic Church and many religious organisations oppose all forms of cloning, on the grounds that life begins at conception.” I believe certain religious groups dislike cloning because it creates life without conception, much like their gods do - and what happens to a god when its followers are able to do that same as it? It becomes a less significant figure. Therefore I think that religious groups only object Human Cloning because they are scared of a loss of faith, which to me is not a valid reason.
In conclusion, I believe that human cloning should be permitted as it can save lives and it can improve lives. I hope I have convinced you that human cloning is not something that a bunch of mad scientists do in a hidden lab somewhere in the mountains for their own convenience and that it is actually an extremely useful technological advancement. Just remember that human cloning IS the way forward!
