WikipediaThe pun, also called paronomasia, is a form of word play which suggests two or more meanings, by exploiting multiple meanings of words, or of similar-sounding words, for an intended humorous or rhetorical effect. These ambiguities can arise from the intentional use and abuse of homophonic, homographic, metonymic, or metaphorical language A homophone is a word that is pronounced the same as another word but differs in meaning. A homograph is a word that shares the same written form as another word but has a different meaning. DictionaryIn to - Definition 1.to the inside of; in toward: He walked in to the room. [The train chugged in to the station.] Into - Definition 4. used to indicate the result of a transformation or change [he changed into a monster] "Did you hear about the magic tractor? It turned into a field" is clearly a homophonic pun based around the two similarly looking and sounding words (in to pronounced intoo [http://cache.lexico.com/dictionary/audio/lunaWAV/I02/I0262900.wav] whilst into is pronounced intu [http://img.tfd.com/hm/mp3/I0202700.mp3]). Whilst sounding extremely similar, it also looks extremely similar. Showing it is both partially homographic and homophonic en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Lists_of_common_misspellings/Homophonesen.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_English_homographs#List_of_homographsP.S. Isn't it ironic that the English board misspelled Cheshire?
