On Monday 3rd of December the debating club made their way down to Holyrood in the snow to attend the St Andrews Day Debating Competition. Shona Anderson was Queensferry High Schools nominated speaker. In this competition she was paired with a university student and took part in 3 debates against other pairs.
1st motion- This house would make films state whether they are fact or fiction.
2nd motion- This house would abolish green belts.
3rd motion- This house would ban beauty pageants.
Shona was extremely consistent and performed very well!
The competition also gave Daniel King, Isaac Riley and Shannon Paterson a chance to judge debates which provided excellent experience.
Holly, Hannah and Claire got a chance to spectate and support Shona.
