Read the first 3 scenes, then....
List what we learn about Macbeth from:
1. other characters - + who said it; why significant; tone: quote
the word which tells us
2. stage directions + evidence
3. himself (what he says and his actions/behaviour + evidence
4. association (eg the witches; the use of contrast) + evidence
