The question for this intro and conclusion is SQA Prose 2007 no.7:
"Choose a novel with an ending which you found unexpected.
Explain briefly in what way the ending is unexpected and go on to discuss to what extent it is a satisfactory conclusion to the novel."
Note carefully how the recommended intro differs from yet is similar to your intro for the 'exploring the nature of evil' essay.
I would recommend planning / writing intros and conclusions for a number of different potential essay questions.
